“Many people think that there is an art to teaching, but there is a scientific process as well.  How to Teach Effectively helps you identify your own artistic strengths and then provides scientific tools that will help you build on your artistic ability.”

— From the introduction

HOW TO TEACH EFFECTIVELY
A Brief Guide

Bruce D. Friedman, California State University, Bakersfield

Whether you're a new teacher conducting your first course or an experienced trainer, you need this book. Bruce Friedman provides techniques that will help you engage learners of differing learning styles and backgrounds. Active learning experiences—as opposed to passive ones—allow students to retain more information over the long term. In addition to detailing ways to assimilate difficult students like the naysayer and the know-it-all into the active-learning classroom, Friedman provides current information on applications of technology that improve the learning experience.
