“The text's strengths lie in its simple but educationally effective design, easy-to-remember model of decision making, and application to commonly occurring clinical issues.”
— Donald E. Baumeister, School Social Work Journal v32.2
STRAIGHT TALK ABOUT
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
Kim Strom-Gottfried, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Ethics is a complex and high-stakes area of professional practice. Too often, though, when practitioners think of ethics, they think of high-minded philosophical discussion far removed from the challenges of their daily lives. Straight Talk about Professional Ethics offers a different take on ethics, one intended to make ethics accessible to experienced practitioners as well as students. Professor Strom-Gottfried examines the ethical standards governing social service practice as they might be applied in a variety of situations.
